In accordance with section 28 paragraph (1) of our constitution, we also have two
resolutions to move, which necessitate a vote:
1. To amend paragraph 9(1)a of the constitution and remove the lower age limit
for membership.
2. To embrace further our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion by
adopting gender-neutral language throughout the constitution.
A draft version of the revised constitution, with the new wording highlighted, is
attached.
A few things to note:
Please do not nominate anyone without their consent!
All nominees must be proposed and seconded by paid-up members
Everyone that fills a post will be invited to become a trustee. It’s not essential
that you become one, and there are some limitations on who can serve as a trustee. More information is available via the Charity Commission website:
Each position/trustee is to serve a three-year term.
All fully paid-up members (before the start of the AGM) aged 18 and over are
eligible to vote.
Any questions you wish to raise should be submitted in writing at least two
weeks before the AGM.
Proxy Voting
Several people have already indicated that they’re not able to attend this year. To
enable these people to exercise their democratic rights, we’re enabling Proxy Voting
for the first time. If you would like to take up this offer, please email
secretary@lyttonplayers.co.uk before Friday 20th September with the following
details:
Your name
Your nominated proxy (must be a fully paid-up member and 18+)
If you have any questions for the Exec or any of the section heads, please feel free
to get in touch at any time; there’s no need to wait until the AGM.
As in previous years, the bar will close just before the meeting, and will reopen
shortly afterwards. We’ll then continue to setup for the Awards Evening (volunteers
required to help; please email events@lyttonplayers.co.uk to offer your services).
If you have any questions, queries or concerns, please email
AGM@lyttonplayers.co.uk and we’ll do our best to answer them.
And if you haven’t done so already, please do buy your tickets for the day and our
upcoming shows, “The Wedding Singer” and Terry Pratchett’s “Wyrd Sisters”!
All the best,
Ross
