Jemma Wadsworth

Jemma has been a keen performer from the age of three, when first attending dancing lessons in tap, ballet, modern and Jazz. She trained at the Debra Knight's School of Dancing and whilst there took part in many dance shows and performances.

Whilst Studying A ’level Music, Theatre Studies and English Literature at The John Henry Newman School, Jemma trained at The Penny Meekings Dance College, and gained her I.S.T.D teaching Associate in Tap.

However Jemma’s first love is performing. Jemma has performed in six pantomimes at The Gordon Craig Theatre , including Cinderella with Bradley Walsh, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with Toyah Wilcox, and most recently Aladdin with Lucy Benjamin, in which Jemma was lucky enough to go on as the understudy for Aladdin for a  two week run, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Other performances include Copacabana, Crazy for You, Titanic – A new Musical, 42nd Street, Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast and many more.

Jemma has also performed at the Edinburgh Festival with the Gordon Craig youth theatre, as well as with The English and National youth ballet, in The Nutcracker.

At the age of 12 Jemma was selected to compete in The Marjorie Davies Tap awards in Camden, which was a fantastic experience. She also took part in a musical tour of Prague with the John Henry Newman School Jazz and wind band as a singer, which she has fond memories of.

At present Jemma is studying Dance and choreography with performing arts at Middlesex University, Trent Park. She currently teaches at The Bunting ford Dance school and the Stripes dance academy, as well as working part- time at The Gordon Craig theatre, front of house.

Jemma's goal in life is to perform in the west end, be happy and have lots of money!!

And always remember in life “Don’t try so hard to fit in, when you were born to stand out”.
