About The Show Information.

A Twist in the Tales is an evening of five short plays.  Whilst the plays were written a while ago, they are still relevant today: tales of deceit, fear, greed, superstition, ego and cowardice.  This table show will consist of:

A Matter of Husbands
A comedic drama, set in a theatre dressing room - an earnest young lady pleads with a famous Actress not to steal her husband.

The Dear Departed
A comedy set in the Slater’s parlour.  Two sisters argue over the possessions of their just-deceased father whose body lies in the bedroom above.

The Monkey’s Paw
A supernatural drama, set in the parlour of Mr & Mrs White.  A traveller visits his old friend and tells of the enchanted monkey’s paw that grants wishes to its owner but the wishes come with an enormous price for interfering with fate.

Fourteen
A satirical comedy, set in the mid-1920’s.  A woman of fashion hosts a dinner party in her New York apartment for a number of guests, whose numbers change several times in the last few minutes before it is due to start resulting in a very stressed hostess!

Box and Cox
A farce.  Two men unknowingly, thanks to a canny landlady, share the same apartment.  And the same, undesirable fiancée!
