Call My Bluff & What's My Line Evening
Saturday 21st March 7.30pm for 8.00 pm start
Cost £5.00 All funds raised during this evening will go towards our new theatre.

Call My Bluff was a long-running British game show between two teams of three celebrity contestants. The point of the game is for the teams to take it in turn to provide three definitions of an obscure word, only one of which is correct. The other team then has to guess which is the correct definition, the other two being "bluffs". It was brought back to BBC TV by producer Richard L Lewis.

Examples of words used in Call My Bluff, taken from a book published in connection with the show in 1972, are Queach, Strongle, Ablewhacket, Hickboo, Jargoon, Zurf, Morepork, and Jirble. "Queach", for instance, was defined as "a malicious caricature", "a cross between a quince and a peach", or "a mini-jungle of mixed vegetation". The first and second of those particular definitions are bluffs.

In our version teams of no more than six will be pitted against explanations given by three members of the Lytton Players. For every correct answer one point will be given to the team.

What's My Line? is a panel game show which originally ran in the United States on the CBS Television Network from 1950 to 1967, with several international versions and subsequent U.S. revivals. The game tasks celebrity panelists with questioning contestants in order to determine their occupations. In our version each team will be given an occupation. The team will then have to do a mime while the others guess the occupation.
